The other week we visited Ikea and guess what - the electric charging points where all taken by PHEV's !
I wonder what happens when you get into the services, all the charging points are in use, all the services have only about 3 that I’ve seen. You can’t go anywhere cos the battery’s flat & it costs you £15 for the privilege as you have to be there over the 2 hours. This will happen more & more as electric cars become more popular
....
i have often wondered if you could bolt on motor to the side of the block with a belt or chain connecting it to the crank pulley would be a viable way to create a hybrid.
it would operate like a kers unit so press a button and you get a big electric boost to your engine, then wait for it to charge up again, a bit like having electric NOS.
i would convert my van if the right price came up

When people look at the running costs of electric cars they need to realise they are only so cheap as there is no fuel tax to pay. Compare it with a diesel running on red and a 700 mile range!
The government will have to bring in pay as you drive - the huge drop in revenue when people switch to electric gives them no other option. Just the excuse they need!
I hate them there soulless
A car should make you feel excited to look at it and make you feel proud to put the poster in your wall like you did when you was 10.
It should make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck just from the sound.
It should give you a sense of pride when you tell some one it’s yours.
You could give electric cars away with cereal boxes and I’d rather crawl through broken glass than have one.
So yeah I hate golf buggies with a passion
