ha ha no chance of that, my GRP or woodworking skills are far worse than my metal working ones

Did get to use the lathe though probably not the quickest way to cut a circle.

handle for the garage door.

Been working on this door for months on and off had enough now.

Painted the frame just need to paint the panels on the outside.

Like an ornament..or that’s what mine is at the moment, no time to put it back together, or clean it, let alone paint it at the minute.

Keep looking at “beginner” projects to attempt on it too, something with proper step by step instructions so I can’t mess it up

A quick rack to hang the slashers up. They are sharp and having them leaning against the wall isn’t ideal when they all start falling over when you go to get one. I didn’t have nails long enough so I counterbored and used a punch to send them home!

Knocked up a small plasma table to stop my garage getting covered in the fine black dust from hand cutting m I may may a small surround for it to stop the slightly splash I get due to the small amount of water in the tray

Been making a bracket for the lathes control box this evening.
Thought I had some 25mm stainless box but it seems to have taken a walk although I have a vague recollection of the boatyard asking me for a short length, didn't realise 5m was a short length
I still had some 40mm box so used that instead.

I welded a couple of lugs onto the control box and then tried it in place (just clamped) to see if it was about the right height. It was perfect, the screen is right at eye level

It is made sicking out so far so that it can be swivelled round if I am wanting whilst getting tools set up.

Good improvisation. How thick is that sheet, and do you think the swager could roll over thicker steel?

@zx9 This is thin roofing sheet, so about 0,5 mm.
I've done the same in cold rolled 1 mm with ease.
Used it with 1,5 mm SS but another set-up making half round beads and jogs.

Couple of sides added. Very happy with it. all made of scrap I've come across. The small amount of cutting I've done this morning shows just how much black dust it captured.

Not made, repaired. Cheap dial indicator that was broken (dial was loose, went every which way). I decided I should take it apart and see how one of these things worked. Put it back together and now it seems to be working. I wasn't intending to repair it, mostly just see how it worked since I thought if I took it apart, it was never coming back together... I suppose I didn't need to take it apart that far either, just putting the needle back on firmy should have been enough.

Started putting it back together

The dial re-zeros accurately every time so I think it's good. Doesn't feel like a quality indicator though, my 2nd hand german indicator is lightyears beyond this.
