You've got the power on the wrong terminals FFS. Look at the diagram LINE is your incoming power wires go.

Thanks for all the help I've got it running its not as quiet as my old one but it doesn't hum or make noise that you can hear to much over the change gears

Honestly I asked in the shop so he took the cover off and said brown to brown blue to blue and yellow to yellow

Just to be sure, you have wired the earth to the casing of the motor?
Do you have RCD protection on the supply to that? It should have tripped out before!

Thats what i was wondering? i am guessing no rcd anywhere, so the earth was just working as a second neutral connection.

no rcd I've only used it for 15 minutes but it burnt a 13a plug and blowen the fuse this is since wireing it properly

What size and type of fuse/rcd protects the circuit it was plugged into? A 13a fuse will allow much more than 13a to flow for long enough to cause damage, i would of expected the upstream devise to fail 1st if the motor had a short.
