Do you need to sew leather?
If not any decient machine will do.
ive stitched heavy harness leather with mine with no issues all in all a great bit of kit and the fact i got it just before it went in a skip makes it all the sweeter.
those are old machines
you do realize that using a sewing machine is a big learning curve
theres a knack to them once you get to sort them out
from memory theres one close in those shops i went to an old type singer sewing machine
Walking foot. You do not want to spend much. Contradiction or what. A proper industrial machine will cost you MINIMUM £300. An old heavy type domestic sewing machine will sew upholstery even leather (to a degree) you will need at least a Teflon foot for leather. I have a 1950's Brother window matic for the intent of sewing leather car interior IT WILL but be warned very steep learning curve. Heavy threads and needles means the settings become minute and CRITICAL !!!!!!! Good luck. Thanks guys, knew this would be a mind field of options. Any particular walking foot models that would be recommended, don’t want to spend much. If it’s going to be expensive I will do a night course first and see how I go or get one and practice at home.
I use a Seiko STW-8B. As already said, you are going to be spending good money £500 ish for something decent. If you want to get into it then it can be justified, else it would be more cost effective to get some done by a professional.
