Its a shame they never check themPoor craic imho, and they'll probably have serial numbers or some such recorded anyway.
View attachment 163421 got the starter off the van! Can anyone tell me how to bench test it before I get a new one? I have a spare battery to supply power but not sure how to do it! Whilst on the van the +ve was connected to the threaded rod, the neutral (-ve) was connected to a bolt holding the starter in place and there was a small cable in a plastic connector that clipped on to the solenoid. Presumably the +ve and -ve are permanently connected and powering the solenoid acts as a switch?
