They welcomed us with 2 nice brown eggs this morning, our rare breed girls stopped laying weeks ago.

Edit - no need for PM as you request them from the rehoming HQ not the local distributor.

The missus did all the organisation, I just picked them, ours came from near Accrington, you may find somewhere closer, the headquarters of the rehoming place is here.

I vaguely remember a local chicken keeper saying they have stopped taking battery hens as they were problematic with the home reared ones, something like one of the groups bullies the other and puts them off laying, not sure if thats a universal thing, might wanna keep an eye on it!

Step father has for a long time got ex-battery hens, at first are a bit wary but soon get used to wandering about, their feathers soon grow back and they lay in abundance.

After storing some electrical supplies for a "friend" i finally told him it has to go and that i want him to repay the money he owes me he just text me and said keep the stuff to cover the money, So now i have adopted boxes of electrical items to sort through,Luckily to me it is like treasure hunting, I have opened a few but i might open one a day like a mad advent calender.

2 pairs of brand new Wiss snips from my local Homebase which was shutting down. I didn’t actually go to Homebase I was waiting to collect an eBay parcel from Argos before it opened and noticed the closing down sign.

£10 for the red handles pair and £7 for the green ones which I thought wasn’t bad

Went to scrappies today with some copper from the old boiler setup. £50 into the bank and while there spied a rather nice vice tucked away in a corner. Made enquiries as to its status and for £10 into his back pocket came away with this. No mug for scale but the concrete blocks in first picture are 100mm cubes. The best bit? its fully functional and only has minor cosmetic defects.

Lovely Italian precision high speed drill. 18000rpm takes up to 4mm. Bigger than I thought weighs 35kg.
Bloke did a lovely palletising job so I sent him an extra tenner .

Might get some myself , my chickens stopped weeks ago also , my chickens used to lay all year round even if it was only a couple a week , bit of a bummer when you have chickens and have to go to the shop for eggs ..lol ,worry about bullying from the other girls but my cockeral the kids call dirty berty will be over the moon

I have no idea what I’m gonna do with it, but reassembly will be the obvious move. A supercharged trike appeals, but I have to finish my hot rod first. Don’t I?

A little trick for Chevy starters. If the solenoid starts to fail, remove the copper bolt connected to the battery and flip the contacts over 180 degrees in their square sockets; this will provide you with a new solenoid for all practical purposes. I discovered this solution years ago when I was unable to get my truck started when we were camping out in the Mojave desert.

Suspiciously similar to my Herbert B high speed drill, could you take a picture of the pulley arrangement? The original is missing from mine and I've never seen how it's supposed to look.
