If your laptop takes one, you can get an ExpressCard with a USB 3 socket in it, iirc. I was looking at one for mine, but the bus speed in mine isn't worth doing that for, so I'm limited to USB 2 speeds, which are fast enough for all I use it for.

explain it better it allows you to boot your system with a new hard drive in minutes an be up and fully running again
its a mirror image of a first boot system with no viruses or faults on your system the only updates needed is explorer files and any anti virus systems before the commencement of any net usage
been using it for donkeys years now i prefer the route of making a image on another hard drive and takes 6 mins to fully reinstall everything on a new hard drive or a write over on the same hard drive
the last thing to do is update it when first touch the net
is there a portable verison of your program exists ukracer ?
as windows 7 can be run in a pe environment with good memory usage as well
windows 8 is the same
if your curious there called windows live discs
for those that use hirens boot cd theres a new update also theres another version out there better than hirens boot cd
Does it copy recovery partitions....total clone?
I dont think it has an express slot.

Cool....i am getting there now.
There is a way of creating recovery discs more than one.
I just created a set last night.
So....i am now in a position to install the SSD to the DVD slot and see if i can clone to it. ....

Yes, it will give as it suggests, a "clone" complete with all partitions etc. It does it by blindly bit copying rather than file copying.
When is a clone not a clone?
It cloned ok but a couple of the partitions have slightly different sizes.....but not the main windows drive. Lol

Yes, one useful feature is to clone to a different drive. Something of an oxymoron.
Thats what i did but how does that explain different partition useage?

Cleverness. Not sure how it does it, but it will map everything to the capabilities of the target drive.
I couldn't resist and also bought one of the Samsung older 500GB 860 EVO SATA SSD TLC drives as they are all on special at the moment. I was actually hoping for the 970 NMVe version but my motherboard doesn't support that type, at best, I could buy an PCIe card to place it on but the motherboard still wouldn't be able to boot of it. I might be able to get the system to only see it just as a fast extra drive, so not really an advantage.
From what I have learned, the new QLC chips aren't as reliable as the older TLC drives and Samsung has changed the warranty from the 5 years down to 3 Years. As they are much cheaper to manufacture it looks like they are going to stick with the QLC chips.
I think that the Samsung SSD drives include a program to clone the old system drive to the new one, I will find out in a week when it arrives, either way there are lots of programs that will do the same job so no biggie.

I bought mine from a seller on Australian E-Bay called Futon-online, it was discounted down to AU$149 and then a further discount of 20% which brought it down to AU$119.20 delivered. I have a cloning software called Firestone Driveclone which I use to clone drives for me so not too concerned if it came with software or not.
The 20% discount applies till the 8th Dec.
has everyone been sent the upgrade option. It seems its changed the name or I missed something. Its now true image cyber protection.
I have been sent 2 offers one for £20.99 for 3 licences and one for 20% off and a free licence.
