slate or tiles...front,back or both...whats the access like for scaffolding stage at gutter height. sometimes its much better to dry ridge it rather than re-point over old mortar. The existing felt roof was done 20 years ago when we moved in & the main part is still ok, only the bits over the arris rail at the edge & where it's tucked under the tiles is bad. The main roof was covered in some sort of silver paint to stop uv damage I think & it as good as the day it was done, but from what I recall the edges had to have green mineral felt on. I'll see what the roofer says tomorrow, it may not be needed to replace all of it.

Mr Roofman, which do you advise, old fashioned felt or the inflatable boat type material, EDPM is it?
