How many hammers

I was rooting around the other day and released I have a Whitehouse fetish as I have quite a few or there hammers.
So it got me thinking, I bought two yesterday and gave one away but I now have just over 30, well 30 I can lay my hands on now
So Who has more?

I have at least two sets of ball peins from 2oz to 32oz - 20+ in total (two sheds + portable tools)
a range of cross peins - another 8 or 10
a set of Warrington pattern nail hammers - like cross peins, but lighter -6 I think, might be a couple of duplicates.
three lump hammers.
at least 5 claw hammers - 16 or 20oz
a couple of 8? oz "toy" claw hammers.
a "road mending" hammer (big claw hammer for pit rail ways)
at least 5 sledge hammers of various sizes.
a set (5?) panel beating hammers.
at least two rubber mallets.
2 wooden mallets
a (round) carving mallet.

oh.
and I have a eurocrate with a dozen or so blacksmithing hammers, but unsorted.

there's also the *big* rubber hammer (for paving),
and a wrought iron mallet which I believe is a couple of hundred years old and was used by my g/g/g/grandad to stake the circus tent - we used it to knock in tent pegs when we went family camping.

so 75? maybe more as I still have several boxes to go through.

they say if a problem seems unsolvable, you need a bigger hammer.

I obviously have a problem...

an upholsters hammer (a bit like a small pick axe)
a scutching hammer(?)
a Thor nylon/leather headed hammer
a brass hammer which I think my uncle cast using a Warrington hammer as a pattern.

a wierd sort of sledge hammer with a sort of drawn out, blunt chisel end on one side - a bit like a fullering tool, but the other side is a hardened sledge head. (it's chipped on one corner, so i know it's hardened -its also got the slightly rounded edges of a hammer head)

oh, and an actual "toffee hammer".

I *think* that's all. so 80, plus whatevers in the blacksmithing crate. probably 100, all together.

As i recall, he had the largest collection anyhow.... But then the chap with the second largest collection died, and he bought up the stock.

...so now he is untouchable!

........if you find a steel handled claw hammer covered in spots of paint....its mine....he never brought that one back....I had 2

I think I have a similar affliction, I've got a selection of Thor hammers from size 0 to 3 with a mixture of copper and hide faces in various combinations, 15 at the last count. Rubber, plastic and deadblow mallets , about 20 ball peins from 8oz to 40oz, a few cross peins and some claw hammers, a few lump hammers and some oddball ones that I haven't worked out the origin of.

Yeah, im sure there must have been cross over / wastage, but it makes for an amusing anecdote anyway.

My 'collection' was starting to get out of hand, especially since I can't resist a well made and sound example of the art, so I started to give my eldest son some of those which would be of use during his house renovations.

That is until the other day, when he said 'Dad, please don't bring any more hammers over, I'm at a loss to know what to do with even half of them'

Clearly he needs instructing in the finer points of such a useful tool.......

No no.1 toffee? Pfffh..
