Today i got a new car battery as mine just died last night, As it's a 3 litre diesel i like a decent brand and sized battery but the Exide Excell i fitted 2 years ago has turned out to be no good, This time i have got a Yuasa HSB019 with a 5 year guarantee £105 from halfords on the trade card, They had the HSB020 for £100 but it's 40mm longer and it would have meant moving bits to get it in...

It took five minutes with a screw driver and an airline to blow all the grinding dust out of it. Was popping the circuit breaker, but no longer. It now works a charm....

You beauty! Do you have a torch for it? I got a wp17 (I think) torch spare.

What do you think of them?

Well first impressions are very good. The wooden handles are nicely shaped and very well finished - especially the brass one. Will almost be a shame to get it dirty!

They certainly seem to be very well made though - better than the usual tat I end up with. The fillet brushes should easily get into tight corners.

Normally I get through a wire brush on every other gate/railing so I’ll be interested to see how long these ones last. Am I heavy handed with them or is this normal?

Mind you, I only do the gates etc as a part time thing and I’ve got nothing booked in for a few weeks, so I’ll not be using them too much in anger for a while.

So far I like what I see, so if they perform ok, I’ll get some more.

Keep the receipt. We go through them Halfords batteries like you wouldn’t believe.
