The day before I got a 10% discount voucher from Screwfix.

Coincidence?

I got a 10% off voucher, handy as I needed £2k worth of boilers

but screwfix boilers are over priced anyhow what I did find out mind im in electrifix and if you find electrical goods cheaper than them at wholesalers they will price match it if you have written quotation . they don't advertise the fact

I take a printout from Trade Only, the boilers are quite expensive as I've ordered oddball ones

Ah, yes it would be useless now. Oil seems to escape from a good oil cans with some sort of gravity defying magic to leave an oily ring where ever the can had been placed at the best of times, good luck with the epoxy filler.

Do you also get flies and insects covering yours? They seem to be attracted to something in the oil and kamikaze to their deaths around the lid

Some HGV exhaust pipe , cut to shape & size . Perhaps a visit to a scrappies is in order. Would it really hurt if it was stainless steel & the soil fairly free of stones / rubbish.

Maybe even buy some tube on eBay or cheaper ask on your local freecycle , face book social group , " Does anyone have a broken handled rabbiting/ post hole digging spade ? ". Have a look on a car boot or in a junk shop for one as well.

I did some Googling and found out that scuba tanks are made from EN19 steel, there's a diving shop with a stack of failed cylinders round the back, I reckon this could be my materiel, depends how thick these tanks are.

I wonder what steel grade Calor gas bottles are ?

I've not noticed that, living here in suburban London we do not usually get many flies or midges even in a hot summer like the one we had this year. Which is a blessing when painting woodwork around the house or quickly blowing over some some small parts with an aerosol or touch up gun in the garden. Forum members from the Highlands may report differently, I gather midges can be a problem up there.

Which is a blessing when painting woodwork around the house or quickly blowing over some some small parts with an aerosol or touch up gun in the garden. It’s the same with paint, they seem to come from nowhere at night to deliberately ruin my machinery!

I’ll take some pics at the weekend, there should be a new ‘crop’ since I haven’t cleaned them in a while...

I do know it won't heat treat.

The British mosquito control institute was on Hayling, it is a tennis centre now but the mossies are still here unfortunately. I got a number of multi bites a few times this year out shooting
They thrive in some old WW2 ponds -old bomb sites -and various other locations, we use the ' holiday' plug in tablets up in the bedroom all summer

My mum uses the 4711 cologne, she’s out in the islands working atm and the mossies leave her alone, there’s citronella in there and the insects hate it.

I gather this isn’t much of a solution for the majority of members on here

Oh, I don't know. I got told I smelt like a whores handbag, by a woman, the other day just due to deodorant, so might as well go the whole yard.

A post hole digger missing one blade. Typical Wickes rubbish tool, the rivets were made of Chineseium.

Probably not worth repairing unless I can find a bit of suitably hard or hardenable steel tube. Anyone got any ideas ?

How about a section of gas bottle cut out to size?
