My ml7 couldn't handle 12mm tools. Had to make a tool post to hang over the edge of the top slide to get the hight right. Don't know if a super 7 is the same.If I'm right, no tools will be harmed as part of the solution.

Not much to show for today, made 8 seal housings for a flush hatch I am making, 50mm Dia x 50mm long bored out to 35mm Dia by 15mm deep and then 26mm Dia x 7mm deep for the seal.
Normally I would do this on the CNC as it would just take 5 or so minutes max per part but sadly the spindle drive died a week or two back so I had to do them on the manual.
The rest of the day has been spent discussing, measuring, drawing rough models and then ordering materials for making a table and davit for a Cheetah that is arriving tomorrow, it is the replacement for the boat I fitted the net drum to earlier this week.

Mine's an ML7 (Tri-Leva) but I'm using a QCTP, not the standard offering.

Well, got the base for the side/occasional table finished and painted today. Had to take a bit out due to a hole in the wood, the troublesome client had ordered (she would say requested) that the mounting plate not be visible through said hole. Then had to re-position and change the turn out angle of the legs slightly. But it came together in the end, the central gussety crossy thingimy was fun, some strange angles in there!
Was shooting to have the base 500mm ish high, and would you believe it
! Turns out I my have been wrong all those times I claimed I would never use Pythagoras when I left school

Which qctp are you using, I've been looking at them for my ml7 as the little cap thing it comes with is abysmal, but there's so many with very mixed reviews, and as you've found, they say they'll fit but in reality only with a 6mm tool in not the 12mm it's supposed to use!

Brilliant!! I'm constantly amazed at the speed at which these CNC machines [and I include lathes etc in that] work.
How long did it take to write the control programme file?

When my Tri-Leva arrived from @MattH on here, it had a four-way toolpost with it, along with the original Myford clamp one. I used it with HSS cutters, some of which I had to shin to get to centre height. It worked pretty well as an arrangement, but I thought it would be better to 'standardise' and kept a lookout for a QCPT to make like easier [lazy old git, me
]. I'm not sure if the 4-way one would take 12mm tools to centre, I'd have to measure - I think the post would hold 12mm though......The QCTP I bought from Melle, also on here, but he couldn't remember the brand. He'd never used it and I've been using it with just one indexable tip tool I bought 'just to see'.

Silly boy, I should have written 550mm Bottom of current table is 540, worked it out so bottom of new one was 550. legs ended u being something like 625 if I remember right (based on typing 500 instead of 550 I'm probably wrong again)

Worse still, I was looking at my very technical drawing and it was meant to be 540mm
In my mind it was meant to be 550 so it's right! Done and in anyway.
I'm still not mad keen on the base but it's what she wanted and the bit of wood is the show piece so a minimalist base is probably best.
Took all of 5 mins before the brats were all over it.

The flux pumpacitor!
It's basically a power flush system made from old junk around the garage, I was getting paranoid about the flux in the pipes after I soldered them, they aren't going to be used for months and I didn't want it corroding everything.
Pain in the **** to use and won't self bleed but so far it's circulating the cleaning fluid around ok....
Not sure how I'm going to drain an incomplete system though

Wish mine was a DSG instead of a crap Colchester Triumph. Having said that it does what I need. Best lathe I have ever had the pleasure of using was an Ikegai, it was just so nice to use although even for a shortarse like me it was a bit on the low side.
