A friend handed in a few volumes of the above book by Arthur W Judge (it belonged to a garage on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow), looks like it is 1920's, some great illustrations:

half of them couldn't strip a motor and rebuild it . having said that theres not much you can do to modern motors anyhow. there throw away at high milage
