Could be there happy been there for the side benefits of the job, these usually equate to the older gent and the company of young vibrant female companions in abundance. South and Central America, and azerbjahan are two that spring to mind.
Not heard this for a while, as its normally paid outside the country anyway by an international contractor or agency.
But if taking some of the opportunities it pays to read the small print and do your homework. There are some real horror stories about.

Well thought I would update this..
Been sat at home "working my notice" got to quite like it. So today when the Egyptian work visa arrived, I decided that well apart from working a year or so, not much would change in my forward plans, so I told them to cancel the flight as I aint comming.
So tommorrow is the first day of my retirement! So job dilema is no more!

Retirement, best job I've ever had, the money's crap, but the hours are fantastic

Been a tough day, first official day of retirment. Took my grandson for a walk up the part of the Pennine Way, his other Grandad farms, hard going with him in a pushchair, but did me the world of good, even if it doesnt feel like it right now

We have a back pack one, but he doesnt drop off to sleep in that. And he had a toddle among the sheep! I was really just entertaining him while his Mum and Dad were at the Mart!
Hill walking would be far easier with no hills! To be honest this 3 wheeler push chair with the largish wheels works a treat.

Regarding notice...why are you sitting at home working notice?
There is no such thing as free time when you are retired.....7 days a week 24 hours a day.
