Since October last year I have taken a full time job as a Setter Operator on a Strippit CNC punch press, company produces high end wall switches and sockets amongst other stuff. Easy peasy lemon squeezy Job!
Trained in maintenance engineering, moved to medical equipment, computer engineer, pump engineer, development engineer on banqueting and conference furniture, full time carer then self employed engineer. Not tried ice cream engineer but I do know some Sicilians!

Left school joined the Army (Grenadier Guards) in1977 did 10 years medical discharge, worked in local govt, on Audits, trained fraud officer, 10 years went self employed (Ltd), working in other Councils again, including working as system control manager, in BT as net work management costings, gave up the company and went back on PAYE, worked at Ready Mix Company (Rugby head office) as computer and equipment supplier, started back with a London Council in 2003 and continue to the present day as a visiting Officer for local govt , dealing with Housing and council tax benefits, Business rates and council tax and any other visits they seem fit, including child care and missing child (from schools, nuisance neighbours etc). During all this time I have run a area of a car club (TSSC) (1986 to 1990's), have done trailing in a land rover 2a, have various land rovers from a series 2a, 110, disco (TD5), 6x6 Range Rover and a 6 door Glenfrome RR, still have a Bond Equipe 2lt convertible that used to be raced (not by me). Since 1994 have volunteered on canals and waterways on the restoration side for Waterway Recovery Group (or WRG), who I am a Board member, also volunteer with Inland Waterways Association as Festivals Site Director and have been running festivals for a few yew years. Plus I have been living on a boat about narrow boat for 18 years

Im a Countryside manager contractor for several organisations, I also teach bushcraft and horticulture. I also run events and a have a small side line in a Snack Food production company (I makes Jerky!)

Airline Pilot, instructor (sim and classroom) and occasional maker of unobtainable car bits. I used to restore crashed aeroplanes and spent a while delivering aircraft. Before that I dug holes on a building site and was a a model in the photographic/brochure industry.

early years an apprentice wood machinist(got made redundant after 2 years ,over head cran driver at b/steel
then got a job as a stairlift engineer as well as welder fabricator.
in the stair lift job in it 24 years and 10 years in an engineering company before I became self employed.

Now retired after some heart trouble. Started as a labourer with the MOD moved onto more technical work still within the MOD, then into the mainstream Civil Service. Became a factory workstudy engineer in the Shoemaking industry then with a water authority as manufacturing moved abroad.

Moved to a Local Authority in O&M and ended up working on phone systems (large PABX's) for LA's, finally outsourced to a large IT company who will remain nameless.

Have always been interested in mechanical engineering completed evening classes in welding and machining now building up my little workshop.

Best part of 20 years in fabrication of sorts.
Few years doing precision sheet metal, a while doing structural steel...a while fitting out specialist vehicles and back to mixed fabrications now...
Involves a good mixture, new stuff, repairs, various materials.. pressbrake work, cnc plasma, rolling, punching.. the odd bit of welding (when I can't avoid it) sometimes will end up measuring up, designing, installing..I also do most of the in-house weld inspection.
