Been getting bad press round here. Empty packaging found dumped from missing parcels
Marking as not in when people are home. Slinging parcels over fences without carding. Hesitant to use them.

They put a note through daughters door, sorry you were out, she watched him walk in through the garden, didn't nock, shoved note in letterbox and walked back out, all without the parcel, she had to go after him, he was most annoyed he had to get back out of van and find her parcel.

In over 3500 parcels I only had two minor issues with Hermes.
UPS, CCL and Parcelforce have caused me significant problems and I still have a unresolved situation with DHL which is going to end up in court.
DPD and DX are OK but never use them for exports as they consistently lose the commercial invoices. FedEx are good but you pay for it, and WN are slower than a Snail.

I sent some bits at the start of the year & they took nearly a week to deliver. Complete carnage I bet at their sorting depots!

hermes are ok for us we only know the lady that delivers and as we are close to the pickup store ours is normaly early in the morning
delivery drivers are now numptys that follow a route told by the tablet they are carrying only a few years ago they used if there was a change over in route they used to take the new person on the route for a few days now it just follow the tablet
delivery drivers only a few years ago like taxi drivers used to know the roads and routes to take that is the differance

No change since the 2nd. Damn irritating, as it was an end of line purchase, which someone at the depot seems to have pocketed. Ill get refunded, but wont be able to purchase the item again.
Chap on the phone said they will "sweep the depot" - I asked him what that actually meant!
He said "well, sometimes things turn up, but a lot go missing...."

ive said it before the post office years ago was near not making any money letters had near gone as emails took over
only the parsels done any good
then comes ebay and internet shoping parsel companys pop up every where but they cant cope at the time of year when 50 percent of people do there xmas shoping over 2 weeks of the year
even the large parsel force cant cope not its a bit like cycle companys at the start of the summer every one wants there bike sorted over the 6 weeks before summer only the differance is once they are booked up they turn away the customers sorry we cant do it till xyz
the parsel companys just keep taking them things get rushed mistakes made yes they should just say no more or have staff to cover the extra work
but how do you take on enought staff to do 5 times your normal work in 4 weeks train them have enought vans and places to store and sort the parsels for such a short time are you going to pay for 5 times the staff 46 weeks off the year for the extra 6 weeks that you need them have 2/3 of a fleet of vans parked up for 46 weeks untill you need them and a where house 2/3 unused for most of a year
and its getting worse as more people use the internet to shop at xmas

One of the lads I work with got stuff delivered to the garage by hermes, a large multi marquee dealership. Rang them to find out where his package was and got told they attempted to deliver it at 3.05pm monday but the driver knocked the door and no one was home.

We get parcels most days at work - TNT, DPD, Parcelforce, Tuffnells - always A1 service both sending and receiving.
Hermes?... Endless problems....Easy, just don't use them? The above companies all deliver in branded vehicles, same drivers every day, logo'd clothing, computerised delivery system/email/text and are happy to help.
Hermes delivery is some old trout wearing a dirty beige tracksuit in her own beat up car with her mother wedged in the back throwing boxes out. She wanders in our place and can swear worse than a room full of welders. Hardly the right company image. Never anything to sign either.
