Recommend me a angle grinder

Can anyone recommend me a angel grinder I am thinking between a metabo 115mm and a fein 115mm

but i tried a cheapie from new was crap wanting an aldi one when they get released again for there price worth getting a few of them

I have 2 x bosch, 2 x elu, a parkside & a cheap chinese grinder but my favourite is my W8-115 metabo. Loads of power but nice to use & very smooth - it's the one I lift if I have a lot of heavy grinding to do.

Makita are my favourite. Lovely compact and ergonomic grinder that fits my hand. Also it's not long so can get into tight spaces with it. Light and compact so easy to use one handed also. Gets my vote too, I have one that’s had some punishment & goes on& on. Also have an ancient B & D which despite me having to replace the worn out head bearings is still providing sterling service.

I have a number of the Bosch pros, good machines.
I also have a B&D pro, good but the switch I think could be better.
I have an Hitachi, the machine is lighter, but the feel of the body feel week in use. I know it is not. but when compared with the others it does.

All good machines, all with pros and cons. I am lucky, my tool supplier will let me handle them before I buy.

All the above are 115mm/4.5"

I would avoid big out lets own cheep ones as they are not suitable for hard work, occasional yes.

Out off the ones I got, I would lean to the Bosch pro.

Lots of good brands but your thinking is probably as good as grinders get. Metabo would defo be my first choice for either corded or cordless.

I have a Erbauer (SF own brand) that is great, had to to disassemble recently to clean some crud off the rotor and it was obviously built to be serviced, it is also small, light and powerful so very happy with it. I also have a Parkside (Lidl/Aldi ?) that is horrible, heavy, noisy and vibrates so badly you can't use it for more than a minute - so basically never use it. Going to buy a Bosch cordless as I have a couple of 18v drills so I can buy without batts.

Don't know about the Metabo

This is one of my Makitas. I haven't got big hands but can comfortably hold it in one hand. They are the best ergonomically that I've tried. I get mine from our local tool shop and it was due to it being compact and comfortable that I bought it over other brands.

Not the cheapest (particularly if you don't have the batteries) but I really like my Milwaukee Fuel grinder.

It's beautifully balanced to the point you can use it comfortably with one hand (whether you decide to or not is up to you...). The rapidstop is extremely useful. I had a cheapo 4.5" grinder and was taking off some paint of a Land Rover's sides which as the Milwaukee's batteries started overheating (was using them very hard on a very hot day) switched over to it. Melted the gearbox... Once the batteries cooled down the Milwaukee carried on. Used and abused it and it's taken everything with ease.

So useful and convenient having it battery powered.

I use Hitachi, have something like 8 x 9" and at least 10x 41/2" again Hitachi........will never buy Bosch again......look at the label, Chinese rubbish.........
go look at Screwfix, the last time I looked u could get a 9 and 4'1/2 Hitachi combo pack for around £85..........thats where mine came from........I bought 15box's and sold the surplus for a small profit to help pay for mine.......
have a lot of Metabo but all 110volt, anther excellent brand........

Early last month I purchased two catalogue returns Ryobi 115mm 240 volt 800 watt angle grinders for less than the average online price of one.
They came with a 30 day money back guarantee from the eBay supplier. When I tried to register them with Ryobi I found that their serial numbers had not previously been registered for warranty with them, so I got the full 2 years warranty.

Over the last 4 years I have purchased several catalogue returns items including a couple of Logik and a couple Bush "wooden" DAB radios, a compact Canon digital camera, a Canon digital bridge camera, a Canon DSLR camera and a couple of lenses for it.

For the workshop I have bought the following catalogue returns: Ryobi 8" bench grinder, Ryobi compound sliding mitre saw & folding table and a Ferm circular table saw.

I purchased all of these items for about 40% of listed RRP and 66% of average online prices. All have qualified for the full manufacturers warranties, and ironically not one of these catalogue return items has either broken down or given me a problem. Some times the packaging has been damaged, but the items have been complete and unmarked.

you might want to check the label on your Hitachi - I’ve got Bosch and Hitachi and mine are both made in China

I bought the £34.99 Bosch pro from Screwfix (GWS 710 I think) as a back up, early days but I'm impressed...and it comes with 3yr warranty

I had one what striped the gears in the head, hands up I was asking a lot from it at the time. took it back to screwfix, with a date I purchased from them. Swopped it out, with out an issue. Plus got free coffee.
