Tefal Fryer--Who uses one?

Not exactly a welding question, in fact no where close

We are considering buying a Tefal Fryer 1.2 kilogram for chips, I love chips and oven chips are sort of ok but don't really hit the spot, a pan of oil is not an option either due to the smell and mess.

Of course I went to the review sites and there is such a mixture of ratings once again as with most review sites I don't have the confidence to trust them.

Now these are not cheap things and certainly not something we want to buy and realise they don't really do what we hope to expect.

So if any member has one then let me know what you think, good/bad, would you buy again, only using it because you have it or anything else that will help my decision making.

We love ours, great for chips and roast veg. Chips take about 40mins though but you get used to the timings. I can honestly say that if ours failed tomorrow i would go out and buy another (but only if i couldnt fix it!).

We use rapeseed oil in ours.

My wife has an Tefal Actifry Steve, only uses a spoonful of oil. It makes pretty good chips, far better than oven chips, although not as good as the best chip shop ones.

If you mean the actifryer 1 tps of oil jobbie I've no idea.
Standard fryers I've always had stainless steel fryers that I can break down clean and then run through the dishwasher. They get grim and plastic casings are the devils work to clean oil off.

Have an airfryer. Wife uses it for part bake rolls and quick dinners for the kids on occasion. There's only one way to cook good chips unfortunately.
Marris pipers and a proper fryer.

Triple cooked chips.

1. Boil chips until just soft. Leave to steam off ALL the water.
2. Deep fry at 160 deg until they start to colour. Lift out of oil.
3. Fry again at 180 deg until crispy.

We've had ours 18 months to a couple years at a guess, yes they are a lot of money, but Tefal have shops in the outlet centres at Gloucester & Swindon. I'm going over to Glos in the next couple of days, if I remember I'll have a look to see if there is on reduced. Remember is the the thing, I've got a head like a sieve

£99 at Amazon for the 1.2kg, says it does enough chips for 5 hungry mouths so there may be just enough for me

As above they take 40 mins but the chips blow the socks off oven ones. Don't just stop at chips as well, there's not much you can cook in the oven you can't cook in an acti fry. Bacon is my personal favourite goes lovely and crispy.

You've lost me , do you mean one of those things with a drawer you put the chips in, we had one and found it useless unless we kept shaking the chips.

Not sure what size ours is, looked on the destructions & no size is given. I says ours, incorrect really, wife's, I only eat what comes out, that's her department

We have had air fryers for years. We usually do oven chips in it (no spoonful of oil needed) and they are much better than in the oven but obviously not as good as deep fried, lets face it, nothing is as good as deep fried
Also use it for things like white/black puddings (just wrap tightly in foil first) and scampi etc

Not sure the make of our latest one but it is the best we have had, others were ok as well but..
