Tefal Fryer--Who uses one?

Is that the same portion sizes as a cheesecake that feeds "8" but barely does 4 ? Honestly where do they get the portion sizes from ?

Bhaji's and Samosa's for breakfast?...you need help , you should consider a healthy option of bacon, egg, sausages, mushrooms, beans and fried bread with toast...low fat spread butter of course on the toast

We used to have one of those worktop deep friers, made the most fantastic chips using the method outlined elsewhere of fry for 12 mins at 160 DegC & finish of at 190 DegC. Unfortunately allthough the chips were good, the smell was not & pervaded the whole house. Wife eventually bit the bullet & bought an actifry. The chips are good much better than oven chips but still not as good as the deep fried ones.

There are some good airfryers, far better than Tefal. Look around. Many half the price and better quality.

Which one do you suggest Dave because we tried a Pifco I think it was and if you put more than a dozen chips in it some did not cook unless you spent ages stirring them up

My idea of the 'moving' ones is at least they get a more even blasting of the heat.

Anything anytime, I also don't believe in wasting time eating desert after filling up on food. If the strawberry tart arrives first it gets eaten first.

I assume air fryers aren't popular in Scotland as they aren't suitable for deep frying Mars bars and such

If making chunky chips or wedges, I microwave them first so they are almost cooked through, then toss them in oil and bake in a very hot oven to get them crispy on the outside.

im too dangerous for the old way i prefer to cook chips with lard in a deep fat fryer thats had sausages in it fish fingers and fish also beefburgers all cooked in the same lard thats been topped up when needed

the younger one and all rest of us love the way the chips have a loverly taste to them and so does many a person who tries them

had to use an electric one for years but mine was the oil one as i could forget it

one other point we are all mostly skinny people eat creamcakes and enjoy them

As above they take 40 mins but the chips blow the socks off oven ones. Don't just stop at chips as well, there's not much you can cook in the oven you can't cook in an acti fry. Bacon is my personal favourite goes lovely and crispy.

Not wishing to cause an argument but i have not found this to be the case.

In my experience anything delicate tends to break up on the paddle...

I think there might be some confusion about what is an airfrier.

Or more accurately what each of us deem an airfryer.

I say this as i read comments like "not cooking unless stired."

I will put my take on it. Please bear in mind i have not seen any other airfryers that use a paddle other than actify.

But as i understand it tefal uses a paddle and you add oil. (Teaspoon)

I am not sure what the other expensive branded airfryers do.

I also have a mini oven (round bowl) that claims to be an airfryer but i would term as halogen oven.

Anyone able to let us know what their "airfryer" uses and does?

Cheers mate a typical false black Friday deal by the sounds of it.

I am in limbo at the moment between the Tefal and Breville Halo which I struggle to find a bad review on, the Tefal seems to have a few bad reviews for breaking just within the guarantee period or shortly after but I imagine they have sold many more so it's perhaps a stats thing.

The air fryers that don't move the food around I have doubts about because of past experience with similar.

A halogen oven which we have is a brilliant bit of kit for oven chips in 15 mins but I get the impression the actifryer types may do them better due to that small drop of oil that eventually coats everything, can't beat a bit of grease for improving taste

I buy that one-cal aerosol oil stuff to spray on oven chips etc, improves them dramatically.

Now't to do with the low calorie count - just spray it on for a bit of taste / crispiness.

Yeah but she plays hell when I give them about 20 sprays.

No need to put oil in for oven chips, they already contain plenty. Albert Bartlett Rooster Fries oven chips are the dogs danglers and take 10mins

I use real potatoes and teaspoon of oil in my actifryer and they are awesome....
