Mellor lathe.

Evening everyone.
Out of interest has anyone of you chaps have or owned a Mellor lathe . I picking a nice one up on Saturday but wondering what size tools it uses for the tool post.

Yer. I couldn't resist it. Nice little machine in good working condition complete with all cutting gears ECT. I did buy another lathe blind. But ain't got a clue what it is. All I no it's old but all working.

I only got the Colchester because it was advertised 5 minutes away from me. It's a case of grab what ya can when stuff comes available locally.

Finally got the Mellor back home. Had to take it apart in 3 sections but all works and in good order. Am chuffed with it to be honest. A really heavy built lathe.

To be honest thats not what is call heavily built, I'd reserve that for a dsg or a monarch. Still, this looks the best of the three condition wise!

It's heavy enough for a small lathe. The pictures don't really show how built it is.

It looks fabulous spencer. A nice lump there.
That looks a funky 3 jaw. Does it have the internal jaws for that. It won’t be much use for smaller parts without them. Dunno what they’re like to find either or if they are compatible with many other chucks.

That's a Taylor chuck, if I recall correctly. Said to be good chucks. Looks like the other jaws are in with the gears.
