SIP table saw, well not today. but due to a misplaced camera lead it had to wait until I found said lead.

I was given it as I quote:
" new blade does not cut square and it wobbles"

Striped the blade and red blade cover. turns out the 2 blade washers were fitted incorrectly.

The damage fence needs a new release handle, well a 10mm spanner will do until I can make on.

Same as the old Clarke woodworker I have by the looks of it. I can't kill it. I've tried. Eyeing up a nice new site saw but until it dies I'll wait. Doesn't get much use.

That looks like a good sturdy bench, perfect for something heavy like a milling machine but I would do something with the wiring you have running between the wall sockets. Twin & earth offers very little protection from damage & is not suitable for running along surfaces like that. At the minimum you should run it in some plastic conduit & very easy to do. If you used some mini trunking you wouldn't even have to disconnect the wires! Metal conduit is better suited to garages along with metal sockets (it also serves as a good screwdriver holder if you space it out a bit

). If you don't want the hassle of threading steel conduit you can use Hi-tuff cable going into metal sockets via cable glands.

Well this morning I was feeling really low, and to make matters worse I'm not sleeping so well as summer is coming and the nights are getting hotter. The post came - local adverts and a credit card bill. Looked in the fridge, I forgot to get bread so no sandwiches for lunch or cheese on toast. Dog had a wee in the kitchen and I stood in it, thanks mate

The day wasn't a winner, until...

The best toy in the world got delivered this afternoon! I was never one of those kids hell bent on vandalism or pyromaniac types but man I am in love with throwing stuff into this thing - wood and branches only though. It's a Hansa C7, made in NZ and it's fantastic. You can tow it along then leave it, one pull start Honda engine puts my Husqvarna strimmer to shame (something like 15 pulls on a good day to start the fecker, been like that since I bought it - new :mad:

). Apparently she eats up to 70mm and I have personally tested this and it is true. No branch is safe. Even sent rotten ones through. It's a bit snatchy, gloves, ear muffs and glasses for this thing but man, I'm having a great time. They even threw in a tank of fuel for free

. I'm happy now :cool:

They are great fun aren't they :-) I've had a geared electric one for years but needed something bigger a few weeks back and hired a big diesel hydraulic one ( big from my perspective ) ...... I ended up chipping massive stuff that would have burned on my log fire, just to see it do its stuff!

Yeah I know the feeling. Prior to the chipper I've been stripping branches of their leaves and twigs to save the meaty wood for the fire (one inch plus) but now that stuff is finding its way into the chipper, saving the plus 3" stuff for cutting up.

I used to have a Britains farm when I was younger, fast forward to now and so far got a lawnmower/tractor, towable trailer and towable chipper, guess we don't grow up really...

Aye. Its all temporary. There's a rats nest of wiring in the roof space too.a kit of its redundant. Everything will be stripped back to the db in the garage and redone at some point in the future.
