A lefthanded person is by definition more adaptable, having to live in a righthanded baised world more adaptable.

I can use a hammer, screwdriver, gun (pistol and rifle) and anything else that comes to mind bar wiping my arris. Although I can find it with both hands.

Actually, it's all a conspiracy.

Almost everything is designed to force right handed people to use their non-dominant hand...

Rifles: the actual aiming is done with the left hand, the right hand only pulls the trigger.

Musical instruments: guitar makes you use non dominant hand to precisely form chords, piano makes you use non dominant hand to keep time with bass line.

Cars (in rhd countries): make you use left hand for the precise placement of gearstick and timing of clutch - almost the same with motorcycles.

Eating: the pointy bit you shove near your face (fork) is held in left hand.

Ancient warfare: the shield (used to protect yourself) held on left arm.

Circular saws: left hand does the guiding, right hand just pulls the trigger and pushes it along.

Angle grinders: left hand guides using the side handle, right hand operates switch and balances.

And.......chainsaws: left hand guides where the bar is, right hand pulls trigger and balances...

For centuries, us righties have been forced into adapting, while lefties have had all the control aspects on their dominant side - and now they have the audacity to say we're oppressing them with our right handed world!

And its the dominant eye that dictates gun position, if you were right handed and left eye dom' the stock would have to be cast over, otherwise you suffer from parallax

I asked about the left handed thing as although it felt "right" with the trigger in my left hand the bloody blade (edit chain) was a bit too close to my leg for my liking...
I've been up the pub tonight with some of the new neighbours and one of them swears you can get left handed chainsaws.....
I'll have to learn to use it cack handed in my right hand then
I think the Husquvarna is what I'll go for with your recommendations and it's a lot cheaper plus I've always wanted a Husky two stroke

You can get left handed saws, one of my old clients had a Gardner with dominant left had. They had to get one in special for him, it cost a small fortune

2015/16 there were 137 workplace fatalities.

Some of them will almost certainly left handed but we don't collect information to that level of detail

Ive just wasted 5 mins looking that site up.

Scissors, knife handles, firearms, pencil grips, rules/tape measures (scale reversed), mouse settings, guitars, cameras...

I've tried left handed scissors and ruler, what a waste of time!
Mouse settings I use it in my right hand with the buttons reversed and it really off the norms in the office when I do that
I'm talking about left handed drills, angle grinder, chainsaws that aren't dangerous to operate left handed like some of these tools are. You just don't see them about

One thing I've never understood about this lefty or righty business is why is there significantly more righties than lefties in the world ? With most things in nature there is an even split, unless by selective breeding we have skewed that balance ?

I've got a Bosch electric one - perhaps not as fast as a petrol one but fantastically easy to use, no smell or petrol going off (diy use only), no problem starting, no having to drain petrol off when finished, quiet. If your using it only in your garden for the odd bit of cutting I'd recommend one in an instant.

I've got a petrol one as well but I can't remember the last time I had that out as I always reach for the leccy one. Obviously if you want the portability of a petrol than it's not going to suit but if not, then they are well worth a look.
