Chainsaws

Well so much for passing any dealers and buying a new chainsaw! The one I went in didn't have any stock and another I phoned had a three day wait so I've ordered one from World of Power, I also bought a bottle of chain oil and a basic safety kit of helmet gloves and a pair of chaps for my legs.
Plenty of logs to chop up and we got a truck full more from a local who had a load of trees cut down, I just need a log burner to put them in now....

You will need a sharpening kit as well... the right sized file for the chain and a file holder.

My oregon electric chainsaw has metal drive sprocket and has done very well, I bought it when focus went bust, only problem I had was buying it as they decided it wasn't safe to sell because they lost the instructions, no wonder they went under

Was in the Honeybros today and they were offering 30% off so grabbed a couple of new saws, never had the stihl bars in the length I was after so threw in the mix a pair of sug`s

so which log burner are you going to get or which one are you going to build then ?

Sugi light bars are a bit flash Quality stuff though. I have an old 036 I have been using and 044 that I have repaired, new piston and gaskets, that MS362 looks very clean.

Sugihara bars are meant to be the bar of bars. The next time I have to replace a bar, i’m going to try one. Could be a while

Not long, those saws will end up in my pile of saws that make up the bitzsa`s within six months . The only saws that last are the ones the boys own themselves, strange that

^^^^^ when i moved in to my house i needed some things doing so picked up a few tressels ladders when i had finshed the jobs i sold most of them as would not use them again bloke come round for a ladder ended up with a few tressels 2 ladders and few other bits

i said your a builder dont you have all these bits then he said yes i have loads of them but half of the stuff is left on site when my stupid workers leave them there when they finsh and when they go back a week or 2 later for the next part of the job its all gone its costing me a fortune to replace all the stuff so thats why im buying 2nd hand stuff they dont look after it but they never leave there tools on a job they go home with them every night

hey he keeps posting that pick up but none seem to move around so there either stuck there doing nothing or hes offering them as parts

Dont get much time on a saw anymore but have to confess to preferring the Husky. We have a good Stihl agent a few miles down the road so it makes more sense to go mainly Stihl.

Ye of little faith the sea of saws stays the same size. I fix a dozen of them and they chuck a dozen broken ones on the pile and it just goes on. I buy new ones and also some second hand off ebay just for the plastics and small parts so the pile will only change in colour/order.

Todays handywork was taking six off the pile , blowout,tuneup, few new bits of plastic, two oil pumps , one carb, all new bars, chains +one spare.fire up check oiling and back in the shed. Six more will go on the pile



Next up is these when I can be bothered
