I am trying to source some materials to make a super awning frame.
The site we are on gets windy and I am concerned our awning poles are not going to last too long.
So I plan on making a super awning frame to withstand heavy winds .
looking around in the garage it looks like a 40mm box with 35mm internals for joints with be fine.
I was planning on 40mm x 2,4mm wall and 35mm with 3mm wall as the 35 would be welded.
But it seems like 35mm is not a standard size and obviously with a 2.5mm wall it all needs to be 5mm increments bar what I use for welded corners.
I will look at costs as I know 35mm square mild steel is available as that would be in much shorter lengths. That might be more convenient.
But just putting feelers out to find out what is available.
Thanks in advance.
