Hi everyone,
I've just about collected the keys on my first ever home and am excited to have all my belongings in one place after a career in the Army and travelling all over the world.
The place I am buying has a prefab concrete garage which is too small for all my tools AND my car but there is garden space and I one day I plan to demolish it and construct a proper double garage.
In the meantime, I want to keep my tools and parts secure in the garage but also still protect my car from the elements. I am planning on putting up one of those Machine Mart tents to keep the car protected in the for now.
As this will be for quite a while - 6 months at least, I am wondering what things I should consider, not the least of which is the neighbours and my eyesore of a tent. However, my understanding is that as it is temporary, I should be ok. The base is something I was thinking of as I would like to be able to work on it and don't want to be working on damp grass. Can I lay some bricks and still not breach any laws?
Anyone have any suggestions re lighting - I don't want to have valuable lamps stolen but also don't want to be putting lights up and down all the time. I've got a space heater as well and a propane canister too. Something to secure the bulky items and possibly some garden security will be needed I feel.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Mark
