It makes sense for you to move away from air products at that price they are taking the pee@Richard.
If you don't mind me asking, how much are you for your Argon? Air Products just went up and up for me and in the end I was over £200 for a refill and then add on the rental and it was just too much for me. SGS, although probably not much cheaper, if at all, for the gas are certainly cheaper in the long run as they have no rental. The initial deposit for the two bottles I have are less than a years rental of the one large bottle from Air Products so it is worth me changing to SGS, just wish they did 300bar cylinders.
Air Products is probably less than a mile away fro me so it was handy, then again Highland Industrial Supplies is only 15miles away but they also deliver free daily to my area so....
The charges for Air Products are as follows;
Coogar 15 X47 cylinder for welding mild steel ( 10.78m3 Capacity ) £53.90
Daily Cylinder Rental 0.42p
Handling Charge £20.95
All prices are plus VAT
Sad thing about the BOC is they have quite a hefty delivery charge or at least they used to when I was with them before. It wasn't too bad as their depot was only about 7 miles from my house so I could collect, still cost to do that but was a lot cheaper than the delivery. I will check them out again but I am sure SGS worked out a better deal for me due to it not costing rental to have 2 cylinders. Having 2 cylinders for me is handy as I can have one away at a job and if I am back at the workshop I can have one there if I need to weld.Hood move over to BOC. I pay £120 a refill.
