Interesting I thought both guns needed about 8cfm hence the choice. Have seen a Dakota 100l 14cfm compressor locally. Worth the investment over the little Aldi one?If you are using the spray gun you mentioned at the end of your other thread the slg 650 then this may be some of you problem.
This is the specifications from data sheet
FULL SIZE GUN: 30 PSI inlet pressure provides 10 PSI at the air cap. Consumes 13 CFM.
TOUCHUP GUN: 30 PSI inlet pressure provides 10 PSI at the air cap. Consumes 8 CFM.
This compressor is to small for the large spray gun and may even struggle to keep up with the touchup gun. Some of the higher spec guns use less air than that model.
The one thing I have found is that for example an impact gun that needs more air than a compressor can supply it will work and possibly remove one or two stuck wheel nuts before the receiver needs to be refilled and is perfectly acceptable to do. Using a spray gun it just doesn’t seem to work well, the fan is nice and large for a few seconds then it gets smaller and the paint then doesn’t atomise as well and the finish suffers
