I wasn't sure about the brakes with only being 4 pot'sR1 motor so bulletproof, EXUP can seize and if its been abused the dogs on 2nd gear can be worn resulting in jumping out of 2nd under hard power. Great bikes and good front brakes having the blue spot calipers![]()
Don't you worry about them, they're pretty impressive.I wasn't sure about the brakes with only being 4 pot's
Yeah, I used to have one. I prefer the later injection models over the early ones. Some had a flat spot which was irritating. Mine was an 08. Front brakes are excellent, it benefits from a +2 rear sprocket and either remove the EXUP or service it once a year.
IME the best big/long/fast wheelie bike ever.I have had mine for twenty years now. '03 Fazer Thou, gen 1.
During that period I have had dozens of other machines, R1's, FireBlades, everything from Supermotos to SuperDukes but I could never bring myself to let the Fazer go. If I want to nip down the shops, it's the Fazer. Nip down to the South of France, Fazer. I have taken it on plenty of track days too, just for fun.
Does it all for me. I'll never sell it, though I will carry on messing about with more specialist machines, the Fazer is my go-to.
