WSME-200 (TIG 200P)

Hi,

About four years ago friend has lent me his TIG 200P welder, when he dropped it off we had a mess with it but he wasn't sure about how to set it up so we didn't have much luck. Since then it has sat under the work bench collecting dust.
I've got some free time so I thought i would have a go with it, however i am unable to find any setup guides to get me going. I've google TIG 200P and another name i found for it WSME-200 but without any luck.
Can anyone help?

PS I normal MIG weld but have (albeit 20 years ago) Tig welded.

This is the machine, i've seen other machines with similar names/model number but some of the controls are slightly different and they don't have the same switches. I forgot to add to the first post that I would be trying to weld MS, 4/6mm.

thats a pretty standard layout ,,, and everything to hand so easy to get the settings you want ,,, have you watched any of the basic tutorials online for machine set up , and about what each function does ,,,,

I've got the exact same one, yellow case with a Cobel sticker on the side. Mine didn't work out the box so I took the cover off and found some of the spade connectors not on properly and one was completely off, reconnected and it all worked fine ever since. I'm only a hobbyist so it's not used a lot but I used the tig function quite a bit when I first got it to make an exhaust system for my car and a little bit of aluminium welding for various brackets, used the arc function quite a bit this summer worked great, it's about ten years old now.

Do you have a manual for it? I used the video tom2207 linked to and had a play last night which went better than i thought! I did find all the filler rods i have from my mate are for stainless steel and aluminium so i need to get some steel ones.

Will have a look but to be honest I don't think it was much use, if I remember right it was written in very bad chinglish and didn't explain much, I got most of my info from this forum and YouTube

Stainless rod is ok to practice on mild steel. Tad more costly but won't hurt for practicing, especially if you had them free.
