Hi, I’m in the process of hanging some gates, and one of them is massive (3m wide, 1.5m tall, weighs about 100kg). It has unusual hanging components: a downwards facing 1” pin at the top, and at the bottom a claw-like contraption, with three half round indent as shown in the attached. Other old gates of this type often pivot directly on the ground and I wonder whether this one
similar and that the “claw” engages on two or even three pins to help the opening and closing motion. If anyone knows how to hang a gate with this sort of fitting, I would be interested to hear more.
