HI.
I've never welded before (Well, I did back at school some 20 years ago).
I've recently purchased a VW T5 and I'm looking at putting a bed frame in the back to create a sleeping area. There are a few companies that sell these types of things. (See the attached image) But they all charge close to or upwards of £1k. (Scene tax at its best).
So I'm quite keen to give it a go myself. It's essentially a square/rectangular frame made of box section lengths. You could get a little fancier with it.
I'm just wondering if this would seem to ambitious as a first project. I'd be looking at picking up the basic of basic mig welders (Machine Mart special Clarke MIG102NG) which whilst I appreciate it might not be the most advanced or powerful, I'm guessing it would be suited to this one off task?
Any advice welcomed! Thanks.
