I will be very careful, thank you for the warnings. My dad, uncle and brother in law are all on hand to help, it'll be stripped down into component parts, head, knee and possibly the base from the column. That last one depends on the paint finish, I don't want to damage the paint if it goes over the join.

I'll also be measuring up for a riser block as you have on your Chester. I doubt I'll need it to start with, but it'll be useful to have the measurements ready.

I've got that machine. I split it into three parts to get it off the pickup into the garage. Still bloody heavy mind.

Well it's here and it looks ok. I wasn't at home when it came but my parents were, apparently the delivery driver couldn't have been less helpful. At one point he was on for leaving it stuck out in the road which would have left us with quite a problem, but he wouldn't have got it signed for if he had. Anyway, roll on Saturday, when the big move starts, I'll get all the measurements I need for the riser block and then start playing.

Has to be something meaningful she gets me....like €60 aftershave....buy me the stuff in the poundshop and il take the extra €50 >
