If it doesn't say 230 on the data plate it won't run on it.on 3 live/ phase machines it will say 3~ on the top line.and if it is able to be rewired or auto switch to single phase it will read 3(1)~

On my transtig 375 when I had my hands inside it sorting it out after it stopped working, the main transformer was indeed across a single phase because its just a dirty big wirewound transformer at heart and you could set the phase voltage with jumpers. However the watercooler and machine fans and other circuitry loads were dispersed on the other two phases to try and maintain phase balance and keep the amperage loads lower. So you would have to do a bit more than alter the jumper plates to make mine run on single phase, in fact it would need rewiring inside.
Given it likes a 100amp feed per phase at full chat now, I would hate to see the amp draw if it was reworked to be a single phase unit. Yes I have a 375amp, and this is much smaller, but its is still a factor.
Mostly I use my modern inverter set for tig, but I do wheel the boc monster around occasionally for doing heavy stick work as it welds so nicely as a stick source and there's nothing fancy to go wrong inside.

Just found this -------talkin single phase
Space Cadet Welder look where its name plate is from !!- 500 amp AIRCO TIG And check this out - it has the taps on the transformer so it can run Single Phase power.
Now that would make the meter spin 26KW!!
