I've asked the seller if it will run on single phase and if he can palletise.
Supposing he says yes, is it possible that (With the help of everyone on here) I could fix it?
I really want an AC/DC.
All old transformer sets are generally single phase, and will run on 240v. If its a 300A set you will need around 32A supply on 3 phase supply, or 64A if you have 240V single phase.
I wouldn't agree with most of this.some transformer sets are 400 only especially tigs with associated circuitry which will fry on 230. Then there are 3x400 arc and tig transformers from kemppi wired more like a mig and won't work on single phase 400v

Unless you know exactly whats wrong though, the fact that its mean messed around with, means a good idea to forget it.
You should be able to get a fully working transformer set for about £300. I bought a non working Dialarc for £75 earlier this year complete with watercooler, which only needed attention to the HF points to get it working perfectly (also had WP pencil torch in good condition, which I think sells for over £300).
