Large garage with a great loft, then into a smaller garage with a pit then into a workshop. The offshot to the side of the house was a washouse with WC and sink, concrete floor. Trouble was I was 12 at the time and didn't need the facilities!

i got my roof on with help from family in two days, frickin delighted with it !
much easier than i imagined in fairness (although not easy), i expected it to be an absoute nightmare. need plenty of batteries for the drill

I would like one large space, divided internally for plasma table/ welding / forge etc, space for woodworking keeping shavings and duct away from the metal work space.

Something this size this would do

My neighbours would complain if I build it in my garden, because it would be in their gardens as well

1800sqft. i would love to, but cant afford it. the rood is 75mm insulation, i might insulate the back wall that gets hammered with rain with kingspan 8x4 100mm boards, im debating that at the moment!

Just use both 100mm fibre insulation toped up with 25mm or 50mm kingspan
Factorys use 200mm insulation fibre but theres are thick walls between the beams

I built my 800 sq ft shed through last summer (2017) but I went sectional timber construction. As a result I had a 100mm cavity all round that I've filled with Rockwool and lined with 12mm ply. Makes a massive difference. I have three wall mounted 1.5 kw electric heaters and it easily gets, and stays, nice and warm in the winter.

My son helped me put the roof on (membrane, OSB & Onduline) during what must have been the hottest weekends of the year, we sweated buckets!!! Immensely satisfying though.

That's a great space you have there, wish my garden had been bigger!

My new roof on the garage has 200mm of space for insulation and as i already had lots of 100mm earthwool i put that in 1st then some snug fitting 75mm kingspan went in after, I am still only less than a third of the way across the roof but if feels much better and as i am using off cuts of kingspan it means i save a bit of £££
