Hi there
finally getting round to sorting out my workshop electrics, to make it better than one 2 gang socket 1 foot away from the consumer unit and the lights wired direct to the breakers so i have to switch them on and off at the CU
I am confident with doing the single phase stuff, and i do have a sparky pal of my younger brother that will check it out to make sure im not doing anything stupid!,
but 3 phase stuff im not too hot on, so will get him to do it, but wondered if anyone had advise on what i need to buy?
I will be running of a big 3 phase genny, so i have ordered 4mm SY cable, i have a 63amp plug for the genny end, then was anting a distro box of some kind with 2 or 3 outlets and all the correct breakers/ mcb's etc,
Its to power an old lathe, not sure what size motor, fairly big looking, might have to scratch off some paint and see if i can find a spec plate.
and a lincoln v350 pro mig welder, the manual states a max current of 26amps and a recommended fuse/breaker of 50amps
and a Jasic cut60 plasma cutter that states 15amps max
my main question is what kind of consumer unit would i need, and do you need to have an mcb for each phase going to each machine?
cheers for any help!
