Nice little innocent one... when looking for 1 screw in a box of assorted screws or such like, tip them out on a sheet of cardboard, find the screw you want, vee the cardboard and tip the others back in the box, often has saved me a lot of time.
Got any pics???If anybody asks you to do a five minute job or fix an exhaust, punch them as hard as you can and run away laughing.
They wont ask again.
Another top tip.
Long leads on tools such as grinders etc, always wrap them around the tool in a figure eight pattern, they dont develop into coils and get all twisted up. Coil mine round and round and die. Every single power tool in my empire is wound figure eight stylee.
tie some string on your finger and u wont forgetI am in work tomorrow will see if I can remember.
Not so good when your workshop is on an industrial estate and you live several miles away!an even better idea fit some rise in temperature smoke alarms

I have a feeling halon flood systems are restricted now...Whilst your at it, get some halon.
The way the cuts are going it will be burnt to the ground before anyone can get there and take firefighting action.havent u heard of a telephone line autodialer a burglar alarm and a linked in fire detector
In a workshop....MMm not sure I like that idea unless its a last resort.Better still...sprinklers / automated fire suppression
Whilst your at it, get some halon.
Personally i would rather use water than Dry powder...Co2 flood would work with minimal damage...
Dry powder is another matter tho...makes a horrendous mess im told...
You dont....seriously you dont.I got a 2kg powder because it works on all fire types and I kinda want to see the mess it makes.
That just makes me want to find out even more. You dont....seriously you dont.
I was welding the sills on a Mini when the seal sealant of the bulkhead caught fire. I quickly grabbed my dry powder only to find it didn't work . Anyway contacted Chubb and they sent a rep out to assess damage (just smoke) and check why extinguisher didn't work. Rep had same problem as me and thumped the handle to get it to work. The handle snapped off and therefore there was no way of stopping flow. My garden looked like a snowstorm as EVERYWHERE covered in powder !That just makes me want to find out even more.
