Workshop pretty much finished.

The building is a mix of block and sheet metal with 1.2mm sheet between me and the neighbours. Not good with my taste for loud music.
it has cost a fair whack to insulate but my friend and builder has done an amazing job.
Today it was Sisters of Mercy Temple of Love, impossible to have a conversation in my place, next door you could just hear a rumble. Before a transistor radio was irritating.
Today I caught myself laughing like a fool, I was so happy.
I have really friendly neighbours, a car workshop, a couple of small units and a guy making protype cars in a space 1/3 the size of mine. A proper shed engineer. he has a CNC carving machine a small 3d printer and is working on an 8x4x6ft 3d printer.
he does carbon fibre and all sorts of weird stuff.
This is the main area, all insulated taken from where the door will go. 16x6m

Same width as my old place but I cant get used to how far I have to walk.

I am getting more sockets fitted, at the moment I am on extension leads, it works but is a bit of a pain.
I am going to keep the right hand side clear of sockets and clutter and plan on using it as a display wall.

Next shot is the front end of the building. I dont really need all this awful space. this will be for storage and stuff like grinding etc.

This is almost exactly the same size as my old place.
I can see my builder mate moving his craft woodwork shop in there.
Rent is very reasonable and I managed to get a years reduction in return for spending the money on the job. Pricy but well look at what I have got.
And three flying sites within twenty minutes.

The neighbours seem to think I am mad as I pop in asking if the music is annoying them.

them are good priorities, worth giving them electric bits a wee bit protection from ingress of dust etc. you could consider an extra set of speakers and just get a wee A/B switching unit-- depending on where you are working.switch between the two sets.

The amp and CD player live in an old fridge with basic air fliters. A bit of fliter material over holes v=cut in the sides, same with the ports on the speakers.
I even paid fir the rip off five year warrantee on the CD unit, they die after a year or two.
it will die near the end of the warrantee. I just know it.

My teenager had an app on his computer that allows him to hack into mine and see what sort of exotic porn I am watching. Erm I mean take over my computer and sort it out.
he has set up a gmail account that intercepts everything to my old account and I have to start using the new email.
What a star, it took him ages. Quite touched.
he might be redundant though.
I have started dating a woman who is an IT bod. Proper nerdy; we get on like nobody's business. She was not sure whether to offer to sort things for me; I was not sure whether to ask her. So I asked Junior.
I remember a few months back mid house sale commenting on something being the icing on the cake of the confusion; it was that bad.
I think she may be the icing on the cake of contentment.
Chunkular life is good.

It will be cold, I have a few heaters, I reckon a wood burner when funds appear.
my old space was dark and low ceilinged. The light here is amazing. I will fit double layer plastic below the rooflights when it needs doing.
Having been ripped off for £20k when I sold my house this is going to be a long term job.
My rent is reasonable, the guy has knocked a big ***** off for the first year as I have spent money on the building. We are drawing up a long term contract. it is also a business run by friends. I have landed on my feet.
Will there be any work coming out of there?
my builder has become a best mate, proper soul mate, he paraglides. he may be moving his part time furniture making business into me front parlour.
I wanted a builder not a paragliding tutor.
Life is good.
