Cheaper to buy a commercial one maybe used, you might find a bargain.Hi all, I’m looking at building a 50 ton workshop press as I pretty much have all the steel, I’m after a flange mounted single or double acting cylinder designed for this kinda thing does anyone know where I can get one from? Thanks
see you have a proper engine crane as well though , unlike the chineasium carp I ended up with ..Iused a 25 Tangye for mine....didn't have the money or the work to justify a propermade hyd unit....
then there will be the mad price for the pump....
the head moves and was made extra wide to push out tractor eng cylinder liners...

100ton press
Hey all the press has a quick release fitting on the RAM we hand a 240 electrical power pack running it but we use the power park for different machinery.. u can put a hand pump on or a electrical...www.facebook.com

This is the type of set up ideally, not really to fussed on the price (as long as i dont have to remortgage for it!)A 50t anything is not going to be cheap or easy to come by.
If you can find a single acting cylinder most have internal return springs so no need for additional ones or a return circuit with double acting.
For my 25t press I used a long stroke single acting enerpak style cylinder which has a threaded section at the extending end. I then manufactured a nut to screw onto the cylinder so I could mount it to the press frame. It wasn’t a common thread but easy to make on the lathe.

Possibly if i could find one second hand that isn't completely knackered, but really could do with it sooner rather than later.Cheaper to buy a commercial one maybe used, you might find a bargain.
Extremely useful I might add.Double action sounds reasonable on a press?
