I am currently mulling around the idea of building myself a workshop in the garden... the garage just isn't big enough, especially as the trailer goes in there, so has to be moved all the time if I want to do anything.
So, I am wondering about the best option! There are pros and cons with each. I am planning something fairly substantial in size... can be 30m2 without needing planning permission, so I was thinking something like 7.5x4m... needs to be substantially non-combustible construction as it will be less than 1m from fence.
1) Brick/Block work walls, maybe double skin with insulation. Most expensive, but probably best quality
2) Precast concrete building (http://www.nucrete.co.uk). Cheaper and solid, doesn't look quite so nice.
3) Metal sheet construction (maybe building metal frame etc myself) http://www.cladco.co.uk. Cheapest, but might get a bit damp from condensation etc.
Anyone got any thoughts on the best way to go with this... Don't want it to be too expensive, but also want to do a good job of it!
Anyone built anything similar? What sort of price did it come out at in the end?
