what music do people stick on in workshop?
looking for ideas to put on laptop, got thinlizzy, creedance clearwater, def leppard, bon jovi, various 60s cds bob marleyetc.

Radio4 normally when there is no digi signal for planet rock

Radio 6 music now I get a decent DAB signal - bought a decent aerial and cut it down to the correct length.

Rarely get dropouts on DAB, last time looked had in excess of 44 stations.
Its Kerrang recently to 11am then Planet Rock playing same ole stuff day in day out year after year with their refusal to play certain popular bands ie Nickelback.

Put the ipod on the docking station and listen to all the podcasts I've downloaded. Radio 4 Friday night comedy - The Now Show, football podcasts etc. Unless I'm making too much noise with the angle grinder then I'll stick the ipod on shuffle and have some background music.

Depends upon what I am doing either Radio 2 or a spot of Rust in Peace! `Specially when digging out rot from the underside of the Herald!

If I`m in a more relaxed mood then a bit of Hawkwind, Motorhead or Manics.

planet rock's ok, but don't you find it gets a bit samey after a day or so, we have it on all day at work, but there does come a point where I think, not this one again, but thats just my personals you understand....

cant bear the radio at work.
Hang the DJ's; all of them.
I have a decent HiFi, Denon Amp, jamo speakers, about 200 CD's and play them all ; damned loud when needed.
Musics? Neil Young, Guns n' Roses, Led Zepp, The Cult, My Morning Jacket, any quality loud rock music.
or Defunkt, James Brown, Gil; Scott heron, loud ranty funk, Miles Davis electric period.
or more gloomy stuff, Smog, Bill Callahan, GYBE, Joy Division, Suicide, Talk Talk, Steve Reich, etc etc.
Proper beard twiddling Muso stuff.
But if in doubt crank it up so loud you cant hear the angle grinder.
Working in a large wooden shed is like being inside a giant loudspeaker.

Radio 4 for me, I have the radio on night and day (so my machines don't get lonely!). Good and maybe a bit surprising to see it's a popular choice in the workshop.

I also have my old amp and speakers, but my wireless network music player stopped working a while ago, hope to get a Sonos in there soon.

Kerrang or absolute radio 90's for me. Either that or streamed from my media collection, which could be pretty much any genre....

Radio is usually hammering out some tripe all day long, although we have had a decent station on lately, some old 80's hits.

Usually a different station on in each shop trying to out do each other. Mind, most of the time 3 or 4 machines are banging away so you can't hear it anyway

Arrow Rock is Okish no ads and no talking at all! bar the odd very quick news update, but only via web. So Radio2 if on site, but it's turned off while that tosser in on at 12:30-14:00

David Byrne, Robert Fripp, Lightnin Hopkins, Little Axe - The coolest dub blues act nobody has heard of.
The Veils, Mercury rev, Shox Dr mentions Sir Ivor Cutler. I doff my hat.
It cracks me up quite often. People come to see the halfwit artiste and are puzzled that he is listening to boko guitars not sitar or whale music.
