We need a method of heating one of our workshops - it is an un-insulated 3,500 sq. ft.
We have had various methods of heating over the years, non of which have been particularly successful. Electric heaters (3 phase) don't seem to last very long, infra red heaters are very localised, so have been looking at other methods.
The best seems to be warm air heating - a gas powered unit which blows out hot air. Are these generally the norm for large area space heating? We need something that can be switched on and forgotten about - not having to refuel/change cylinders etc. We also need something that doesn't sit on the floor as space is limited and it is likely to get bashed about.
The full area of the workshop is in use so anything 'local' is not much use. Red hot in one position, then as soon as you move away its freezing!
Diesel heaters not much use, as they kick out fumes, propane not much use either.
All advice gratefully accepted!
