Better to seek forgiveness than ask permission...the alternative is being a devious swine getting a quote from the most expensive place around then pull out a "normal" priced quote and tell her its an utter bargain compared to the "inflated" going rate and your not going to get a deal like this again anytime soon, or just take the cash out in drips n drabs and then order the ready mix

That works normally, except my wife is also the company accountant. So she sees invoices, does the shopping and getting a discount etc. Yes I'm screwed but to be fair, if it was up to me we'd be living on boiled water and wearing sacks and I'd have a really cool workshop...

the last time I laid a floor here I ended up doing it all myself, started at 10am, and finished driving the powerfloat round at 6am the next day.

I just googled that garage, its in Tours it seems where I have to go every few months for a checkup. I might pop in to it next appointment.

Having all these big stone barns and large expanses of space is great. im lucky I have them. But you spend so much time and money maintaining them, that projects end up on a back burner. Or the become the project.

And try heating a huge shed. That would cost the third world dent to insulate.

Right would love to sit and type but have some rotton barn roof timbers to replace, cant put of any more or the roof will collapse.

That's why you need a nice forge! Keeping cool would be the problem for my ideal!

As I drive past the big old stone barns around here my thoughts were that I would sub-divide a barn up if I were doing it for my personal use. Heating would be less of a problem but also good for keeping clean areas clean etc.

My shed is split into 3 garage, she keeps the quad and farmy sh1t in. A clean area my bike lives in separated from the workshop area by a freezer curtain strip thing. Works quite well or it would if I kept it closed.

4 off barn roof timers replaced. Just need to re screw and cement up edges now.
