Hope everyones ok and not sure this is the correct bit of the collective but I know theres a lot of experience on here. Currently working frome home and theres 2-3 of us doing it in a 3 bed semi so its not ideal oscillating between the breakfast bar, dining table, and front room. The company has invested millions in tech to enable this, fair play to them, but vaccines etc notwithstanding its going to be the norm for at least this year, and there is talk of it becoming the new norm as we have proved we can be trusted to perform without sitting in an office. Ive only got 18months to go till I can finish and I dont physically need to work on site so would be more than happy if I didnt see the inside of an office again .
Anyway, that aside, and due to the gym being closed we’ve bought a treadmill which is superb but means even less space in the house.
So we’ve been discussing using some of the outside space, probably with a view to putting the treadmill (and my radio shack) in there so I can have a desk in the dining room, or a desk/office setup in the outdoor space which would segregate “working” and home.
The border on the right is going as all the wood is rotting. So the lawn can be pulled across to the fence.
We’ve a 3x2M flagged concrete bit to the left that could then be made 3x3, and something dropped in place, alternatively the shed and compressor house could go which would make space for 3x3M at the bottom of the garden.
Building wise I could whack a large insulated shed type structure up but it would just look like a big shed.
We’re thinking more along the lines of a ready made log canin type affair which would be a bit more pleasing to the eye.
Has anyone any recommendations for a decently built make , and would 3x3 be a useful size ?
Also would it be better to site it next to the garage or would it be better at the bottom of the garden in terms of not enclosing the space in too much ?
Want something thats going to be long term useful and not knock up a white elephant thats too small to be of any use
