I need to cut 6of 80x40 (3mm) box section into short lengths, and also cut 12 or so gusset plates from 3mm steel. I can't justify buying a proper cut-off saw with a grinder blade for this little job, but want to make a decent job of the cuts (one end 90deg, the other 45deg approx) and get a certian ammount of repeatability from the gusset plates.
(stupid question alert) I have a bosch mitre saw, and assume you cant just fit a steel cutting blade? My biggest grinder is 4", so wont get through the box in a one-er. I have a cut-50 plasma, but again would result in turning the workpeice and a certiajn ammount of innacuracy.
Not overly keen on a quick homer from a smithy, since they are normally not interested in smushy jobs, and would prefer if possible to add metal cutting ability to my own sliding mitre saw (254mm blade)
Any thoughts?
