How sturdy are they gordon.....? would it take the weight of say a 1x1m gate...?

Stronghand table is pretty stable and would certainly be strong enough to easily take the gate you mentioned,They come flatpacked, so a bit of assembly required,The two sliding guide rails are handy for clamping to for welding a square corner.Have a good look at the stronhand website, they have lots of great brackets and clamps etc.

gordon, is the table top pressed steel or solid...? looks pressed if so how thick..?

Stronhand Tools do some really nice clamping tools and Buildpro welding tables.

yeah they look good been meaning to make a proper bench for awhile though... haha rapid welding is a bit cheaper when you include shipping about £10 each cheaper haha

I just costed steel for a new hotbench this week, and it is going to cost me over £200, and its nothing special, 50x50x3 mm box and a sheet of 4mm plate...nearly fell over.....

seriously? i got a load of 25mm square 3mm wall about a year or so ago just finished it now lol it was pretty cheap though i though about 50p per foot i think. last metal i got was 2mm aluminium £60 for an 8x4ft sheet

i guess though, i'd say £120 is what a 4mm 8ft x 4ft would cost.

sounds a bit much to me, last time i had anything like that it was 50mm round tube 3mm wall at just over £1 a foot maybe £1.50 about a year ago....

in fact check this out, this place is usually a lot more expensive than you can get stuff locally but even here it's under £10 a meter link........
