I got it with two guesses remaining: but only because I got "free guesses".
They weren't exactly "everyday" words, either...

Yes, I play it frequently, and for it to be fun, I need to know a lot of five-letter words. I typically look them up online because it's impossible to remember them all, but there are also some tools that are really useful in this situation.

We do Wordle and the other free NY Times games - mini crossword, Strands, Connections. It's a fun 5 minute thing to do with other half if we are out getting a coffee somewhere. The only slightly annoying thing is when the crossword clue is an athlete or acronym you'd only know if you were in the US.

I started to do Wordle. After two or three weeks it came under American ownership. It lost its appeal for me instantly.

I quite like Connections and The Mini, I usually have to Google anything sports or American though. I don't bother with Wordle or any of the others.
