If its condensing boiler is he sure it's not the boiler?
Although what you have posted does suggest pipework, have you got access to a thermal camera? Can be useful to narrow the search
check your prv pipe some people use that to bleed down your system when running the system not when its cold
more like its leaking from that
its a new boiler kayos connected to other things to start when away
Try pressurising the system and switching the boiler off for a day. If it still loses pressure it’s not due to expansion issues.
Done that Gaz. Checked a few times and no water coming out the overflow and turned the PRV valve on today and it closed after.
I'd say isolate the boiler, cracked heat exchanger and running through the condensate is a possibility
I'm swapping a heat ex on Monday with this exact fault
did you check whilst system was being run hot?
sounds silly but is your system running slower when first turned on than it did before
silly point is valve may not be open correctly so is blowing off out your prv valve
Where would the water leak to? I don’t normally mess about with the internals of the boiler but maybe could check if the water was draining away somewhere. There’s a plastic/PVC pipe that runs from the boiler too, any idea what that would be for?
My wife got a plumber round the other day and he put some cleaner through the system and now it won’t hold pressure, filling it twice a day.
Boiler has a new expansion vessel and no water comes out the valve. There is no water coming out the PRV, the boiler guy pressure tested the system and reckons the leak is in the piping. Gone round and checked all the rad valves and piping that is exposed and can’t find anything.
Anything I’ve missed? Any ideas?
do you know where he was working and what he may have touched
is the new expansion vessel fitted that day
i presume hes done the boiler checks to see if its gas safe
safe
where did he run the cleaner through the system
as kayos states the only way to test that condensate condition is by closing your boiler valves down and doing a boiler test on pressure holding there
it rules the boiler out for leaking if not its gives a good idea where it is
plumbers do the holding pressure test quickly sometimes they do lose pressure after they have left
I can come up earlier if you need me to do
I can come up earlier if you need me to do
This and check your PRV isn’t leaking.
