stainless ??I know there is no special steel, however some grades may withstand direct heat better than others
The heat on a stove toplate which is the hottest part, is around 250 / 300 o c, its nothing that will affect mild steel.
I had a deal with a stove manufacturer for supplies of Corten, as they used it for all their stoves. Slows the corrosion considerably= longer life.
Our main stove is Corten but the baffle is stainless. While it has distorted a bit, there is no problem with corrosion. 11 years of hard winter use.stainless ??
