Wish I'd thought of that, currently in the process of sanding the de-natured wood on my garage prior to applying Barn Paint at £65/5l. Had 20l of used engine oil too...2000 mile old diesel oil and white spirit, 75% spirit and 25% oil...great protection and a nice colour tone too imho. wifes laundry room, rear gates and a bit of fencing...loads more to do this week and happily costing pennies.

! I went online & found dry ridge mat for less than half that, & have ordered composite [made of 75% Recycled car tyres or something] screw-down Ridges for nearly 1/3 the price of concrete Marley type.... so managed to reduce cost from circa £350 to about £150. Waiting for them to turn up now, & hoping they are good!)
